![]() ![]() Oddly enough, the PlayStation Portable (PSP) is considered a “failure” in certain circles, mainly because despite Sony’s superior hardware, the Nintendo DS had almost double its sales. After a while, the PSP became out-dated and the PS Vita was introduced to replace it, but a lot of core gamers still own and play it, because easily run it with homebrew software. The lifespan of the system lasted for more than a decade, with lots of other newer versions of it released between the year 20. The system’s rollout for 2004-2005 was a huge success despite initial concerns that the price was too high considering the fact that it was a handheld device. It’s hardware accelerator and dual processor could run ports that were very similar to that of the original PlayStation 2 versions (Persona 3, Grand Theft Auto), while the graphical capabilities of the DS, its rival were similar to those of the Nintendo 64 and PS1. ![]() ![]() The PSP was the first of such devices to compare well to the memory capacity and graphical abilities of the sixth-generation consoles (original Xbox, Gamecube, PS2). Playstation Portable or also known as PSP was a great advancement in the world of handheld gaming devices. ![]()
